Installation problems on Windows 7 and Vista

Solution

After following the installation instructions on Windows 7 or Vista you may find that you get error messages indicating an error downloading files from the server.

This is likely to happen if you have created your Minkata shard folder in the "Program Files" (" Program Files (x86)" on 64-bit versions) folder on your system drive: Windows UAC (User Access Control) will, by default, block UruLauncher.exe from updating files within that folder, even if the user has an Administrator account.

The UAC can be manipulated to overcome this problem, but perhaps the simplest solution is to simply move the entire folder to a different location: Moving it to C:\<shard folder name> is a reasonable option.

Once the folder has been moved, you should be able to run UruLauncher.exe successfully.
